My mother and I have embarked on a collaborative artistic journey that began several years ago. This unique partnership was initiated when my mother expressed her desire to have her actions of making pulut kuning - a traditional Malaysian dish, captured as a cherished memory. Our collaborative project, titled "Pulut Kuning Lab," showcases a collection of photographs that document her process of preparing pulut kuning. Through this visual narrative, we aim to share the cultural significance of this traditional dish and highlight the importance of preserving culinary heritage.

The photographs in Pulut Kuning Lab provide an intimate glimpse into my mother's kitchen, capturing the meticulous steps involved in preparing pulut kuning. The images offer a sensory experience, portraying the textures and aromas associated with this beloved dish. Each photograph becomes a visual record, embodying the rich traditions, memories and family ties inherent in the act of cooking. 

Through my humble lens. I captured the essence of her actions, revealing the skill, dedication and love that goes into the preparation of pulut kuning. The photographs transcend the mere documentation of a cooking process, transforming into visual narratives that celebrate cultural identity and familial bonds.

The work serves as a tribute to the invaluable knowledge passed down from one generation to the next. It honors the wisdom and expertise of my mother, capturing her passion for preserving culinary traditions and sharing them with future generations. The project not only highlights the significance of pulut kuning as a cherished dish but also emphasizes the importance of storytelling and memory-making within the context of cultural heritage.
